The mechanism

"Attention deficit" is the wrong name. The attention isn't missing - the regulation that turns intention into action is.

ADHD is a self-regulation disorder, not an attention one. The gap was never knowing what to do; it's doing it. And you can't install the missing reflex by wanting it harder - so we stop trying, and move it out of the body.

  • If the internal thermostat is broken, you don't train yourself to feel the temperature. You put a thermostat on the wall.
  • We build regulation into objects, time, and spaces, so the world holds the setpoint the brain can't.
  • Not motivation. Not a reminder. A thermostat for attention. We never fix the person - we build the world that holds them.

The doctrine

A few rules we don't break.

The whole thing rests on externalization: external systems do the work, external numbers prove it. These are the lines underneath every screen we ship.

Track

You can't grow in what you can't track.

Weight has the scale. Running has pace. Lifting has plates. Attention had a questionnaire - occasional, subjective, written in deficits. The app is its first real scale.

Records

PRs, not scores.

Your longest verified stretch is a personal record to break - a deadlift PR for attention. We refuse any daily score that can decay into a verdict.

The bank

Up only.

You can't lose miles. The worst session still adds to the total. Progress is a balance that only ever rises.

Recovery

Coming back is the skill.

The prized stat was never not-derailing. It's how fast you re-enter after you do - the heart-rate recovery of attention.
