Privacy & terms
The short version
Attention Deficit runs on your device. Your camera video is analysed live, on this device, and is never uploaded, recorded, or stored — only numbers (was a person present, and for how long) are kept. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no error-tracking in this version.
Your camera
When a session uses the camera, frames go to an on-device model that detects presence — whether a face is in frame. We do not run face recognition, gaze-tracking, or identify you, and no image or video frame ever leaves the device.
Your screen
When a session uses screen tracking, the surface you choose is read on-device to log which app or tab you're in. Those pixels are never uploaded or stored — only the app/tab name is recorded. You pick the surface and can stop sharing at any time.
What we store, and where
Your sessions — duration, a per-second presence timeline, your goal, type, and any title, note, or feel rating you add — are saved in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is sent to a server in this version. Private notes and any attached photo stay on your device and are only ever shown to you.
What changes if accounts arrive
Optional sign-in and cross-device sync are planned. If and when you create an account, your numeric session data and summaries would sync so you can see your history on another device. Your session video and screen pixels would still never leave the device, and private notes and photos would stay local unless you explicitly choose to share an activity. We will update this policy and its version before any such feature is switched on.
Children
Attention Deficit is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If that's you, please don't use it without a parent or guardian.
Terms — what this is
Attention Deficit is provided by Darian Media LLC ("we"). It helps you keep an honest record of the focus you got. It measures presence and activity — it is not a proctoring tool, not a lie detector, and not a medical or diagnostic device. Don't rely on it for anything safety-critical.
Fair use
Use it for yourself. Don't try to spoof presence or pass off someone else's session as your own — the point is an honest record. Don't use it to surveil or coerce other people.
Your data is yours
You own your sessions. Because they live on your device in this version, clearing your browser storage deletes them — there's no server copy to restore. Back up anything you care about.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Focus detection is an estimate and can be wrong. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss arising from using it.
